After having a break-out year and working his way into the UFC’s top 10, bantamweight rankings, Thomas Almeida has outlined his plans for 2016.

Almeida is coming off a 2015 campaign which saw him score consecutive, stoppage wins over Yves Jabouin, Brad Pickett and Anthony Birchak. The last two were highlight reel, KO victories which buzzed the MMA world several times over.

Recently the rising Brazilian fighter spoke to UFC.com, and when asked how he plans to maintain his momentum, Almeida stated:

“I think it’s about training harder – I have to keep motivating myself and staying true to the people I’m with; having my head in the right place and just continue what I’m doing,” Almeida said. “I think I have a very strong mind – I don’t let anything from the outside get inside and I always keep my focus; that’s what I have to do to continue being at the top of the weight class.”

“Step-by-step, I will work my way to the top and accomplish my objective of being the UFC champion.”

As 2016 begins, the 24 year-old Almeida is armed with a 20-0 record and he is currently ranked #7 at 135.
