Tony Ferguson Responds to Rumored McGregor – Diaz III, “That B-tch Needs to Defend or Vacate” 155 Title
By FCF Staff
As talk regarding a third bout between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz continues to make the rounds, Tony Ferguson has blasted the lightweight champion and the rumored fight.
Ferguson is set to fight Kevin Lee for an interim, 155 title next Saturday at UFC 216. The title was created since McGregor has not defended the belt, since he stopped Eddie Alvarez last November to secure it.
During a recent media call to promote the October 7th headliner, Ferguson had this to say about the rumored, McGregor – Diaz III scrap (quote via MMA Fighting):
“The next fight for Conor should be whoever wins this interim lightweight title,” Ferguson said. “Regardless of winning or losing this, myself or if it’s Kevin Lee, that b*tch (McGregor) needs to defend or vacate and he needs to unify that belt. Anything else, with as far as him trying to fight Nate and everything else, that’s the bullsh*t rankings and everything else that the UFC stands for just [going] out the window, man.”
“This has been my division before McNuggets even stepped into this b*tch,” Ferguson added. “Even when I was at Paradigm Sports Management, he signed up at 145 pounds. The agreement was he wasn’t going to come up to 155 pounds, but that raised a conflict of interest and I’m pissed, so that b*tch needs to fight me or he needs to fight the guy that’s holding the belt.”
Recently McGregor’s coach, John Kavanagh, proposed that the fighter battle Diaz again on St. Patrick’s Day, 2018.
