Conor McGregor has been the man credited for the UFC’s top selling, pay-per-view cards to date, and it looks like the Irish star has helped the company set a new PPV record.

Following McGregor’s stoppage win over Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205 on Saturday, UFC President Dana White reported the event broke “every record in UFC history”. The UFC doesn’t disclose exact PPV figures, but it’s believed that UFC 202, featuring McGregor – Nate Diaz II in August, generated around 1.65 million PPV buys.

UFC 205, which took place at Madison Square Garden in New York City, set a new live gate record of $17.7 million.
