UFC Announces Stipe Miocic – Daniel Cormier to Fight, After Coaching TUF 27

Dana White relayed after UFC 220 that he wanted to book a bout between Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier, and now the promotion’s announced the two will fight on July 7th, at UFC 226.

The bout will be for Miocic’s heavyweight title, and will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

In addition, the UFC’s confirmed that the light-heavyweight and heavyweight champs will coach opposite one another, for the 27th Season of “The Ultimate Fighter”. The show will being airing on April 18th, and will feature a cast of undefeated featherweight and lightweight fighters.

After Cormier’s stoppage win over Volkan Oezdemir at UFC 220 last weekend, he said he was not interested in moving up to heavyweight, since his teammate, Cain Velasquez, is preparing to return to the cage.
