After losing his title shot at UFC 173, it looks as though Vitor Belfort will finally get his long awaited bout with middleweight champion Chris Weidman.

Belfort, who recently admitted he tested for elevated levels of testosterone earlier this year, appeared in front of the Nevada Commission on Wednesday.

According to a report from MMA Fighting.com, Belfort has been granted a license by the commission; however, the 37 year-old cannot compete before December and his next fight must take place in Nevada. The former testosterone-replacement-therapy user will also be subject to random drug tests. The fighter will reportedly also have to pay for the testing.

Following the news, the UFC posted the following on Twitter:

Belfort will be competing for the first time since November, 2013, when he knocked out Dan Henderson in the first round. The victory followed Belfort’s stoppage wins over Luke Rockhold and Michael Bisping.

As a result of his impressive run, Belfort was tapped to fight Weidman at UFC 173 in May. After the NSAC banned TRT in late February, Belfort withdrew from the event.
