Alexander Gustafsson Tells Jon Jones to “Stop Delaying” and to Make Rematch Official
By FCF Staff
As the UFC and Jon Jones reportedly work on a new contract, the man who is set to challenge the light-heavyweight champ next, is evidently getting tired of the delay.
Recently it was revealed that the UFC is hoping to book Jon Jones-Alexander Gustafsson II for August 30th, and that the latter, has already agreed to the fight. Since Jones is negotiating a new contract, however, the bout is not yet official.
As a result, Gustafsson recently posted the following comment on his official Facebook page, urging the champion to sign the dotted line.
Jon “Bones” Jones, 4 days have past and still no signature from you on that piece of paper from the UFC. As a Champ, accept my challenge. You have something that belongs to me and I want it.
The fans are waiting, so come on now, stop delaying.
Jones and Gustafsson fought in September at UFC 165, and the champion retained the title with a unanimous decision victory.
The five round bout was one of the year’s best fights, and since then, Gustafsson has scored a stoppage win over Jimi Manuwa. Jones, on the other hand, is coming off a UD win over Glover Teixeira.
