Dana White: Kayla Harrison Has Made Successful Cuts to Bantamweight
By FCF Staff
The news that Kayla Harrison is dropping to bantamweight to fight Holly Holm at UFC 300 seemed to surprise more than a few observers. But, UFC President Dana White says the former lightweight champ has already been preparing for a run at bantamweight.
Due to the fact Harrison has fought at lightweight throughout most of her career, and because she dismissed the idea of moving to bantamweight in the past, the UFC 300 booking was scrutinized by some.
According to MMA Fighting, however, White has reported in an Instagram stream that Harrison has successfully made test cuts to 135 pounds.
The 33-year-old Harrison (16-1) is coming off a unanimous decision win over Aspen Ladd in November. The two-time, Olympic Gold Medalist in Judo has gone 4-1 in her last 5 contests.
UFC 30o will take place on April 13th in Las Vegas, Nevada.
