Dana White: UFC Was Looking at Stipe Miocic – Jon Jones
By FCF Staff
Dana White is reporting that the UFC was looking at booking Jon Jones to fight Stipe Miocic next, before the light-heavyweight champ was flagged for a potential doping violation.
White spoke with the media after it was announced on Tuesday, that Jones has been flagged by USADA, following his stoppage win over Daniel Cormier last month. While doing so, White said the promotion was interested in having “Bones” fight the heavyweight champ at UFC 218. The December 2nd card will take place in Detroit.
Since Jones has been suspended by USADA before, the star is facing a multi-year suspension if a successful appeal isn’t made.
As far as Miocic, the Cleveland fighter’s management team has said the heavyweight will remain sidelined, until he receives a new contract.
