Former UFC welterweight title challenger Thiago Alves recently entered free agency, and it didn’t take the veteran fighter long to sign with a new organization.

Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship has announced that the 36-year-old Alves has signed with the organization. In a follow-up statement, Alves was quoted saying (quote via MMA Junkie):

“I’m very excited to be part of the BKFC family,” Alves said. “I’m looking forward to testing my skills against anyone in my weight class. ‘The Pitbull’ is thirsty for blood!”

Earlier this month, Alves confirmed that he had received several offers but the noted striker said only the “right offer” would prompt him to continue fighting.

Alves (23-15) finished out his lengthy UFC run having gone 1-4 in his last 5 fights. The Brazilian fighter made his Octagon debut back in 2005.
