Jon Jones continues to express a very clear interest in fighting at the proposed, UFC White House card, and now “Bones” has clarified he wants to fight for the heavyweight title.

Immediately after American President Donald Trump announced plans to host a UFC card at the White House, Jones reported he wanted to compete at the event. That proclamation came not long after Jones announced he was retiring, following months of speculation whether he would agree to fight then interim heavyweight champ, Tom Aspinall.

More recently, the former light-heavyweight and heavyweight champ spoke with Joy of Everything on TikTok. While doing so, Jones confirmed what fight he is hoping to secure at the UFC White House Card (quotes via MMA Fighting.com).

“I would want to take on whoever’s holding the belt at the end of the year. As of right now, the champion is Tom Aspinall but we’ll see who’s the champion at the end of the year. I feel like it would only be fitting to have an American guy fight for the championship that night.”

“I think it’s exciting,” Jones also reportedly said about the White House card. “Very exciting. I can’t promise anything but I have a very strong feeling that I’ll be on that card.

Jones (28-1), who turns 38 in a couple of days, last competed in November, 2024, when he stopped Stipe Miocic.
