Report: Islam Makhachev – Thiago Moises Bout Changed to Headliner
By FCF Staff
Due to the postponement of the Max Holloway – Yair Rodriguez fight, it’s being reported that Islam Makhachev versus Thiago Moises will now headline the UFC’s July 17 card.
Holloway and Rodriguez were originally scheduled to fight in the event’s headliner. But, recently it was reported that Holloway has been sidelined due to an undisclosed injury, and that the fight is postponed.
More recently, MMA Junkie’s John Morgan has reported sources have informed him that Makhachev – Moises will be that card’s new main event.
Makhachev (19-1) is coming off a submission win over Drew Dober in March and has won seven straight.
Moises (15-4), meanwhile, recorded a decision win over Alexander Hernandez in his last fight, which took place in February. Moises has won three in a row.
The July 17 card is expected to take place at the UFC’s Apex Facility in Las Vegas.
