Report: Santiago Ponzinibbio – Li Jingliang Fight Planned
By FCF Staff
It looks like Santiago Ponzinibbio will still be competing on the UFC’s January 16th card after all, as it’s being reported Li Jingliang has agreed to fight the welterweight contender.
Ponzinibbio was originally booked to fight Muslim Salikhov at the upcoming event. But recently he reported that he’s withdrawn due to COVID-19 related issues.
Now MMA Fighting is reporting that multiple sources have told the outlet that Jingliang has agreed to fight at the January 16th event.
Ponzinibbio (27-3) hasn’t fought now since November, 2018, when he KO’d Neil Magny. The Argentinean fighter has won seven straight.
Jingliang (17-6) is coming off a decision loss to Magny this past March. The Chinese fighter has gone 3-2 in his last 5 fights.
The upcoming UFC card will take place on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.
