RIZIN 33: Tenshin Nasukawa to Face Takanori Gomi in Special Rules Bout

The 23-year-old, highlight-reel striker will face Gomi in what RIZIN says is a “special standing” rules bout. No conditions regarding what weight the fight will be contested at was announced.
Nasukawa has historically fought at around 128 pounds while Gomi has competed at 155 pounds and higher.
Nasukawa, who has gone 42-0 in pro kickboxing and 4-0 in pro-MMA to date, announced last year that he was transitioning into pro boxing. More recently, it was announced that Nasukawa is expected to finally face fellow, kickboxing star, Takeru Segawa, next June.
The 43-year-old Gomi holds a pro MMA record of 36-15. The former PRIDE champ faced Koji Tanaka in a custom rules bout last NYE, which did not allow kicks or grappling, and recorded a majority decision win.

RIZIN 33 will be hosted by the Saitama Super Arena on December 31st, and will feature the semifinals and finals for the promotion’s bantamweight grand prix.
