Ryan Bader Outlines The Upsides For Fighting Jon Jones or Daniel Cormier
By FCF Staff
Ryan Bader will almost certainly secure a title shot if he gets by Anthony Johnson, and according to the light-heavyweight, there’s upsides to fighting either Jon Jones or Daniel Cormier for the belt.
Bader will take Johnson on at UFC on FOX 18, which will take place on January 30th in Newark. The winner will likely advance to face the winner of the upcoming rematch between champion Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones. That fight has yet to be officially booked.
Recently the powerful wrestler spoke to UFC.com, and while discussing who he’d rather face, Jones or Cormier, Bader stated:
“There’s an upside to both fights,” Bader said. “With Jones, you’re fighting one of the greatest fighters of all-time and I have a loss to him already, so I want to go out there and prove that I’m a better fighter than I was back then. With DC, we have history and we’ve had words, so it would probably be DC if I had to fight for the title, but regardless, it’s not who, it’s what. If the title’s on the line, I don’t care who it is.”
Bader faced Jones in 2011 and lost via second round, submission.
