By FCF Staff
Following reports that Josh Koscheck would likely return to action against Neil Magny at UFC 184, the promotion has announced that the welterweight will fight fellow vet, Jake Ellenberger instead.
The UFC has confirmed that Koscheck and Ellenberger will battle at the February 28th event, which will be hosted by the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.
Koscheck (17-8) hasn’t’ fought now since last November, when he was knocked out by Tyron Woodley at UFC 167. The defeat was the 37 year-old’s third straight, following wins over Matt Hughes and Mike Pierce.
Ellenberger (29-9) has also lost three in a row, following a first round, submission loss to Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 180 last month. As a result of the losses, Ellenberger has fallen out of the top ten and is now ranked #11.
UFC 184 will also feature a middleweight title fight between champion Chris Weidman and Vitor Belfort, and a bantamweight fight between champion Ronda Rousey and Cat Zingano.
